Logan local guide
Most of Cache Valley's RV and boat storage sits on Logan's west side and up US-91 toward Smithfield, so you can stash a trailer close to home and still be on the road to Logan Canyon in minutes. Lifetime Storage in North Logan has uncovered 12x42 RV spaces, Smithfield Storage has open 18x40 spaces, and Aspen Springs on 4600 North has pull-through spots up to 40 feet. If you'd rather keep the snow off, Towne Storage South Cache near Nibley mixes open-air, covered and fully enclosed parking.
Winter is the deciding factor here. Jenson Indoor Storage runs a heated building kept around 40°F from October drop-off to April pickup and prices the season by the foot, but it asks you to winterize first because it can't guarantee the temperature. Outdoor-space owners should drain water lines and plan battery care before the first hard freeze.
Hyrum State Park, about 20 minutes from downtown Logan, has one boat ramp, a decontamination station and a beach, and is a year-round fishery. Bear Lake is 41 miles east over the Logan Canyon National Scenic Byway (US-89). The state park marina in Garden City has a seven-lane ramp, slips rented by the season or the night, and fenced dry storage for boats on trailers, and boats can stay wet-stored in its slips from November through April.
Utah titles 1985-and-newer boats and outboards over 25 hp through the Motor Vehicle Division. Separately, everyone who launches in Utah, paddleboarders and kayakers included, must take the annual mussel-aware boater course, and motorized boats also pay a yearly aquatic invasive species fee ($20 for residents, $25 for nonresidents). Pull your drain plug whenever you leave the water or trailer the boat.
In town, Bad Apple Eddy Outfitters and USU's Outdoor Programs rental shop rent canoes, kayaks and rafts, and Cache Powersports in Hyde Park rents WaveRunners on trailers. At Bear Lake, Bear Lake Rentals, Epic Recreation and Bear Lake Funtime rent pontoons, ski boats and Sea-Doos. The ramps and dump stations below are from OpenStreetMap.
