Ogden local guide
Ogden sits at the foot of the Wasatch Range where the Ogden and Weber rivers meet, with I-15 and I-84 crossing on the west side of town. Most RV and boat storage follows those freeways: a cluster on 3300 South by the Ogden-Hinckley Airport, Blue Compass RV off I-15 at 12th Street, U-Haul on Wall Avenue, and more yards north in Farr West, Pleasant View and Willard on the way to Willard Bay.
The two big boating waters pull in opposite directions. Pineview Reservoir is up Ogden Canyon by Huntsville; the Forest Service's April 2026 update lists the Port Ramp as closed and the Anderson Cove ramp open with limited parking, so check its alerts before you tow. Willard Bay State Park, north of town off I-15, has 9,900 acres of water, North and South marinas, a boat launch and a dump station, and its long-term slips are now handed out by random draw (A Dock $1,300, B Dock $1,000 per season).
Covered and indoor space matters with Wasatch Front winters. U-Haul's Ogden vehicle storage has covered spaces up to 12x45 feet with electricity in each, 17th Street Storage rents covered RV parking 16 feet tall plus 60-foot open spaces, and FlexWorks Ogden offers heated indoor units with power. Open yards such as RV Storage Lots on 3300 South and Blue Compass RV post monthly rates, and both list an RV dump for their tenants.
Parking at the curb is short-term only. Ogden City Code limits a trailer, boat or boat trailer on a public street or alley to 24 hours, and a recreational vehicle that is at least 7 feet tall, 8 feet wide or 20 feet long can't stay on a residential street longer than 24 hours, even if it moves within the same block. Boats, trailers and RVs also can't be parked in a residential front yard unless they sit on a paved slab or a driveway that leads to legal parking at the side or rear.
In Utah, motorboats and sailboats must be registered through the DMV. For 2026 every boater has to complete the free annual mussel-aware boater course, and motorized boats also pay an aquatic invasive species fee ($20 per boat for residents, $25 for nonresidents) before launching. At Willard Bay, boaters must certify their boat is mussel-free at every launch and decontaminate after visiting Lake Powell or out-of-state waters.
Across our three Ogden guides we currently list 10 storage facilities, 8 RV dump stations, 5 named boat launches and 3 boat rental businesses, plus 1 marina. Storage details come from each facility’s own website and the date we checked it. Dump stations and ramps come from OpenStreetMap. We never add prices, ratings or availability that a source does not publish.
