RV & Boat Storage in Provo, UT

Provo local guide

Provo sits on the east shore of Utah Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Utah at roughly 148 square miles, with I-15 running the length of Utah Valley from Lehi down to Spanish Fork. Utah Lake State Park is at the west end of Center Street, and US-189 climbs Provo Canyon to Deer Creek Reservoir for boaters who want a mountain lake. Storage clusters along the freeway: Orem's west side near 800 North, south Provo off State Street and Industrial Parkway and the Springville and Spanish Fork exits.

Most local yards are open lots, but the mix is wide. AAA Lakeside on West Center rents outdoor spaces up to 12x60 ft with pull-through options and posts a $60 starting price, CubeSmart on 900 South lists 50 ft parking spots, and Toy Storage in Spanish Fork adds heated enclosed units, covered stalls and trickle power. Utah County winters bring snow and freezing nights, so it is worth asking about power for a battery tender if the rig will sit through the cold months. Covered or enclosed space also keeps snow load off roofs and canvas.

Utah Lake State Park runs a marina, launch ramps and a dump station, with a $20 vehicle entrance fee; its RV campground has 31 hookup sites. Deer Creek Island Resort rents boats and WaveRunners at Deer Creek State Park in season, and two Provo-based outfits rent surf boats and jet skis for Utah Lake harbors, including Provo, Lindon and American Fork, plus other reservoirs. The park's own hours run 6 AM to 10 PM from April through October and close at 8 PM in winter.

Utah has strict quagga mussel rules. Every boater, including kayak and paddleboard users, must complete the annual mussel-aware boater course and carry proof in the launch vehicle. Motorized boats must also be enrolled in the Utah AIS program each year ($20 resident, $25 nonresident) through the Division of Wildlife Resources. Motorboats and sailboats need current DMV registration; boats from out of state can operate up to 60 days a year on home-state registration.

Across our three Provo guides we currently list 13 storage facilities, 15 RV dump stations, 2 named boat launches and 3 boat rental businesses, plus 1 marina. Storage details come from each facility’s own website and the date we checked it. Dump stations and ramps come from OpenStreetMap. We never add prices, ratings or availability that a source does not publish.
