Eugene local guide
Eugene and Springfield sit at the south end of the Willamette Valley, where the McKenzie River joins the Willamette and I-5 meets Highway 126. Most dedicated RV and boat lots are on the edges of town: Eugene RV and Boat Storage on Awbrey Lane and Stor-A-Coach on Airport Road near the airport, Cross Town on South Bertelsen Road in west Eugene, Springfield RV and Boat Storage on Old Mohawk Road, and a cluster around Junction City to the north, including Fern Ridge, Riverside, Storage Junction and Premier RV.
The choice runs from cheap open parking to heated buildings. Fern Ridge lists outdoor spaces from $60 a month and enclosed buildings up to 55 feet from $185, Cross Town rents 12x30 to 12x50 lots from $95 to $125, Stor-A-Coach has indoor RV units with 14-foot-high doors from $375 for 40 feet, and Premier RV in Junction City offers heated indoor storage with service work done while the coach is parked. Several lots, including Riverside and Storage Junction, set limits or keep waiting lists, so check before you plan around a space.
Street storage is not an option for long. Eugene Code 5.135 treats any vehicle left unmoved on a street for more than 72 hours as stored; to break the clock it has to move at least two blocks and stay away 72 hours, and a vehicle with expired registration can't be stored on the street at all.
Fern Ridge Reservoir, just west of town, is the main boating lake. Lane County Parks runs marinas at Richardson Park and Orchard Point, plus Baker Bay on Dorena Lake near Cottage Grove; new seasonal moorage opens April 1 and depends on reservoir levels set by the Army Corps of Engineers. Richardson's marina RV dump is closed during wastewater upgrades, and the county points campers to other dumps in the meantime. Under Way LLC rents paddleboards, kayaks, canoes and sailboats at Orchard Point in season.
Oregon motorboats register for two calendar years at $8 plus $5.95 per foot, and the renewal cycle opens November 1 of the expiration year. Every non-motorized boat needs a Waterway Access Permit ($6 for a week or $20 a year), and out-of-state motorboats and sailboats over 12 feet need a $30 Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Permit and must stop at inspection stations.
Across our three Eugene guides we currently list 9 storage facilities, 3 RV dump stations, 7 named boat launches and 3 boat rental businesses, plus 3 marinas. Storage details come from each facility’s own website and the date we checked it. Dump stations and ramps come from OpenStreetMap. We never add prices, ratings or availability that a source does not publish.
