Butte local guide
Butte sits at the crossing of I-15 and I-90. SMT Storage and Northwest Distribution Center share a Wynne Avenue address near the junction, Citadel Storage is out on South Warren Avenue, Butte Mini Storage is on Five Mile Road, and ABC Mini Storage II is east of town on Highway 2. The same owners as Northwest Distribution Center also run The Space Center, a 36,000-square-foot indoor building in Anaconda.
Two Butte facilities publish outdoor rates. SMT lists outdoor RV and boat spaces at $2.00 per linear foot per month with a $25 minimum, and its 45-foot space was on a waiting list on the check date. ABC Mini Storage II charges $65 a month for outdoor 10x25 or 10x35 spaces on a three-month minimum, or $275 to $290 for drive-in units up to 12x40. For a rig you don't want to winterize, Northwest Distribution Center advertises heated indoor storage on month-to-month, seasonal or yearly terms.
Butte-Silver Bow's parking rules make the street a short-term option only. The county's fine schedule lists $150 for leaving a trailer or oversized vehicle parked on the street more than 48 hours (code section 10.52.070), $250 for a second offense, and a separate $100 citation for using a street for storage.
The nearest marina we list is on Georgetown Lake, west of Anaconda on Highway 1. Moose Marina there rents 8-horsepower fishing boats, kayaks and paddleboards, leases slips by the night, week or season, and sells gas, but it runs only in summer: its 2026 season ended September 11. The dump station listed below is the 24-hour Town Pump RV dump on the south side of Butte, per OpenStreetMap.
Closer to town, the boat ramps below are the public slipways mapped in OpenStreetMap within about 25 miles of Butte. Montana requires every watercraft, motorized or not, to be inspected before launching, so allow time on the drive to Georgetown Lake for any open watercraft inspection station along the way.
Across our three Butte guides we currently list 6 storage facilities, 2 RV dump stations, 0 named boat launches and 1 boat rental business, plus 1 marina. Storage details come from each facility’s own website and the date we checked it. Dump stations and ramps come from OpenStreetMap. We never add prices, ratings or availability that a source does not publish.
