Laramie local guide
Laramie is a university town where I-80, US-287 and Snowy Range Road meet, with the Snowy Range a short drive west. Storage is spread out: 4 Mile RV & Boat Storage is on Cannonball Road, Laramie Storage on North 3rd Street, the two Storage Star parking lots on Boswell Drive and Skyline Road, and the Albany County Fairgrounds on South 3rd Street.
Open lots are cheap here. 4 Mile lists outdoor spaces up to 48 feet for $25 to $45 a month and covered 40-foot bays for $150, and Laramie Storage's fenced 12x45 spaces are $60. Storage Star rents parking up to 14x50 at both locations. Covered spots are scarce, and most 4 Mile sizes showed a waiting list on the check date.
The Albany County Fairgrounds runs a seasonal storage program. From October to April, boats, RVs, travel trailers and ORVs go into the locked show arena and livestock barns, with boats only under the grandstands. Staff move the items in, and access is very limited until spring. Rates are by total length from the tongue, with a 20-foot minimum.
Laramie Municipal Code 10.36.330 allows an RV or trailer, including a boat trailer, on the street only directly next to property the owner owns and lives on, and only one per residential property owner. Renters need permission, according to the Laramie Police Department's 2025 update. Anyone else has to keep it off the street.
Every boat on Wyoming water needs a Game and Fish aquatic invasive species decal, priced from $5 to $30 depending on the type of boat and where it is registered or where the owner lives. For paddling the nearby lakes, Fast Haus on Skyline Road rents paddleboards and inflatable kayaks. Wyoming River Gear & Paddle House downtown rents rafts, inflatable kayaks and canoes with 72 hours' notice.
Across our three Laramie guides we currently list 5 storage facilities, 1 RV dump station, 0 named boat launches and 2 boat rental businesses. Storage details come from each facility’s own website and the date we checked it. Dump stations and ramps come from OpenStreetMap. We never add prices, ratings or availability that a source does not publish.
