Saylorville Lake, the Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Des Moines River just north of the city, is where most Des Moines boats launch, and all three storage options here are on that side of town. b.Mac's is on NW 2nd Street on the north side of Des Moines, Beaver Ave Storage is in Johnston just north of I-35/80, and Saylorville Lake Marina stores boats right on the lake in Polk City. Lake Red Rock, near Pella to the southeast, is the other big water within an hour.
