Sioux Falls local guide
Sioux Falls has the Big Sioux River running through town, but most boats here head out to lakes: Lake Alvin near Harrisburg, the glacial lakes around Madison about an hour northwest, and Lewis and Clark Lake on the Missouri River near Yankton. The storage options here line up with those routes: I-29 Storage is right off the interstate at the Harrisburg and Worthing exits south of the city, LockBox is on Veterans Parkway on the southeast side, and Five Star is on West Teem Drive in the northwest, close to I-29.
South Dakota winters are the reason indoor storage dominates here. All three offer enclosed space: I-29 Storage publishes its prices, from $210 a month for a 14x45 unit to $240 for a 14x65, with 14-foot-tall doors, lights and outlets in every unit. LockBox adds temperature-controlled spaces and pull-throughs, and Five Star has heated units. Even indoors, drain water lines and keep batteries on a tender through the cold months.
Boating in South Dakota: boats are licensed through county treasurers, and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks enforces boating law and offers boater education. Ramps and dump stations below come from OpenStreetMap.
Across our three Sioux Falls guides we currently list 3 storage facilities, 7 RV dump stations, 0 named boat launches and 0 boat rental businesses.
