Prescott sits about a mile high in central Arizona, where State Route 89 runs north through the Granite Dells toward Chino Valley and State Route 69 heads east through Prescott Valley and Dewey to I-17. Boating here means small lakes rather than big reservoirs: Watson Lake, about four miles from downtown off Highway 89, has two boat launches and a courtesy dock, and Goldwater Lake south of town is a 15-acre lake limited to electric motors. Watson and Goldwater charge $5 for parking, with summer hours of 6 AM to 10 PM from April through October.
Because few residents can park a motorhome at home, storage yards are spread across the quad-city area. Hometown sits near Prescott Regional Airport and Granite Dells Storage near the Dells on the north side, Garrett has 12x40 spaces on Builders Way, while Prescott RV Storage on Gail Gardner Way and Big Iron on Iron Springs Road serve the west side. Dewey RV Storage and My Storage line Highway 69, and High Plains and RV Inn cover Chino Valley.
Pricing is unusually transparent: Dewey RV Storage posts uncovered 40-foot spaces at $100 a month and covered 40-foot carports at $170, and Prescott Self Storage lists 35-foot RV spaces at $95. Several yards, including Prescott RV Storage, Hometown and Toy Safe, have a dump station on site, which is handy before a trip. High Plains offers battery tender outlets under its covered spaces.
There are no full-service marinas, so rentals come from paddle-craft outfitters. Born To Be Wild delivers kayaks, canoes and paddleboards to Watson, Willow and Goldwater lakes, and Prescott Outdoors rents from a stand at Lynx Lake in the national forest east of town.
Arizona requires every motorboat to be registered with Game and Fish regardless of size, including canoes and inflatables with an electric trolling motor. Visiting boats registered in another state can operate here for 90 days before Arizona registration is needed.
Across our three Prescott guides we currently list 14 storage facilities, 2 RV dump stations, 2 named boat launches and 2 boat rental businesses. Storage details come from each facility’s own website and the date we checked it. Dump stations and ramps come from OpenStreetMap. We never add prices, ratings or availability that a source does not publish.
