Spokane local guide
Spokane sits on the Spokane River in the Inland Northwest, with lakes in every direction: Long Lake and Lake Roosevelt to the northwest, Newman and Liberty lakes to the east, and Lake Coeur d'Alene about 35 miles away across the Idaho line. That spread is why many owners here store a boat and an RV and tow them out on weekends from late spring through early fall.
Spokane winters bring snow and freezing nights, so the storage choice matters. Uncovered spaces are the cheapest, covered spaces keep snow off roofs and covers, and enclosed units protect against freeze-thaw and sun. Whatever you choose, plan to winterize water lines unless the unit is heated. Among the facilities listed here, All Season's Storage publishes its prices: outside parking from $55 to $110 a month and outside covered spaces from $105 to $150 a month. The others ask you to call or check online for current rates.
Street parking is not a long-term option. The City of Spokane treats RVs, boats and trailers as non-passenger vehicles. On residential streets they may park only while actively loading or unloading, up to 24 continuous hours on the same block face, and they may not be lived in on the street.
Boating on Washington waters: if your boat is registered in another state, Washington requires an aquatic invasive species (AIS) prevention permit before you launch; WDFW lists the permit at $20 plus transaction fees, valid one year. Parking at state parks and on WDFW and DNR recreation lands requires a Discover Pass, which rose to $45 a year (or $10 a day) on Oct. 1, 2025. State Parks also lists a $7 daily watercraft launch fee and a $5 trailer dump fee, both on top of the Discover Pass, waived if you are camping in that park.
Across our three Spokane guides we currently list 3 storage facilities, 7 RV dump stations, 5 named boat launches and 2 boat rental businesses. Storage details come from each facility’s own website and the date we checked it. Dump stations and ramps come from OpenStreetMap. We never add prices, ratings or availability that a source does not publish.
