Nashville local guide

Nashville has two big Corps of Engineers lakes at its edges, both fed by the Cumberland River system: Percy Priest Lake on the Stones River east of the airport, and Old Hickory Lake on the Cumberland to the northeast toward Hendersonville and Mount Juliet. Two of the storage options are on Percy Priest's west side: BlueGate on Percy Priest Drive, minutes from I-40, I-24 and the airport, and RecNation on Pleasant Hill Road near Elm Hill Marina. The third, The Boathouse at Benders Ferry, is on Old Hickory's south shore in Mount Juliet.

The choice comes down to trailer or no trailer. BlueGate rents outdoor spaces and enclosed private garages with optional power for trickle charging, and its tenants get a free RV dump station and wash bay, handy after a lake day or a trip. RecNation offers open, covered and enclosed spaces with 24-hour access. The Boathouse is enclosed rack storage: 236 boats up to 32 feet and 50 personal watercraft, brought down to the water on a 20,000-pound lift when you request them.

For renters, Sun Life Elm Hill Marina and Nashville Shores both rent pontoons on Percy Priest, Elm Hill with double deckers and slides for up to 20 guests, and Cedar Creek Marina rents pontoons on Old Hickory.
