Mooresville sits on the east shore of Lake Norman, North Carolina's largest man-made lake, formed on the Catawba River by Duke Energy's Cowans Ford Dam and about 25 miles north of Charlotte via I-77. Charlotte-area boaters store and launch here: BlueGate's covered bays are on Oates Road in Mooresville, and Store My Boat and Little Egypt serve the west shore near Denver and NC-16.
