Jackson local guide
The Ross Barnett Reservoir, a large lake on the Pearl River on Jackson's northeast edge, is where most Jackson-area boats go, and storage follows it. Reservoir Loc-N-Stor is on Grants Ferry Road in Brandon on the reservoir's Rankin County side, J-Hand is in Flowood between the airport and the lake, and Mississippi RV & Boat Storage has lots in Madison, Brandon and Canton for owners north of the city.
Central Mississippi is hot and humid most of the year, with strong spring storms, so covered or enclosed space protects upholstery and gelcoat. J-Hand offers both covered and uncovered spaces month to month, and some enclosed spaces at Reservoir Loc-N-Stor have electric hookups to keep batteries charged.
Boating in Mississippi: boats are registered with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, which also runs boater education. The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District manages the reservoir and its launches. Ramps and dump stations below come from OpenStreetMap.
Across our three Jackson guides we currently list 3 storage facilities, 3 RV dump stations, 2 named boat launches and 0 boat rental businesses. Storage details come from each facility’s own website and the date we checked it. Dump stations and ramps come from OpenStreetMap. We never add prices, ratings or availability that a source does not publish.
