Annapolis local guide

Annapolis sits where the Severn River meets the Chesapeake Bay, with the South River just below it and Back Creek and Spa Creek tucked into town. Port Annapolis Marina is on Bembe Beach Road on Back Creek, with bridge-free access to the bay; Pier 7 is on the South River in Edgewater; and Prestige Storage is up Ritchie Highway in Pasadena, closer to the Magothy River and the Baltimore side of Anne Arundel County.

For trailered boats, the ramp matters as much as the parking spot. Pier 7's gated land storage comes with 24-hour key-fob access and unlimited use of its private ramps, and Port Annapolis publishes trailer storage at $150 a month and boat-and-trailer storage at $200. Prestige Storage offers covered parking for boats and RVs, some with electricity. The bay is brackish, so rinse trailers and flush engines after every trip, and winterize before the first hard freeze.

Boating in Maryland: boats are titled and registered with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and anyone born on or after July 1, 1972 needs a boating safety certificate to operate a numbered or documented vessel. Ramps and dump stations below come from OpenStreetMap.
